Tukituki MP Craig Foss and Napier MP Chris Tremain are delighted to be hosting the Minister for the Environment, Dr Nick Smith, in Hawke’s Bay on the 10th of June.
While he is here Dr Smith will be meeting with the city’s Mayors and representatives from the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council to discuss the effects of the new Air Quality Standards on the Hawke’s Bay region.
“The implementation of the new Air Quality standards is a huge issue in Hawke’s Bay,” said Tukituki MP Craig Foss “There are enormous financial implications for our residents and the effects of the new standards are unique in Hawke’s Bay. We are looking forward to putting our local case to Dr Smith”
“We have been pushing Dr Smith for a review of the Air Quality Standards we believe it is important to show him how the plan, as it stands now, will affect us here in The Bay”, says Napier MP Chris Tremain. “We will be presenting him with the facts and figures for Hawke’s Bay so that informed and practical decisions can be made in the future.
