Hawke’s Bay MP’s Craig Foss and Chris Tremain are delighted to see the initiative shown by the Eastern Institute of Technology regarding the offer of free or low-cost training for those people who, after consultation with their employers, have opted into the Government’s nine-day fortnight programme.
‘It is fantastic that the EIT is showing such leadership to help The Bay through the recession’ said Tukituki MP Craig Foss. ‘Such enterprise is to be highly commended and we encourage people to use these services.’
‘It is great to see the EIT stepping up to the plate’ adds Napier MP Chris Tremain. ‘I congratulate them on providing opportunities for workers faced with this predicament and on their proactive initiatives that will help people to upskill’
Five institutes of technology and polytechnics have announced that they are to provide training to employers and employees who take up the Job Support Scheme. The other organisations are Aoraki Polytechnic, Otago Polytechnic, The Open Polytechnic and the Wellington Institute of Technology.
