Local MP supports “Grow a potato in a bucket” fundraiser
November 18, 2009
Craig Foss MP for Tukituki is supporting the latest fundraiser by the Rotary club of Havelock North. He is taking part in the “grow a potato in a bucket” competition. This is all happening at his Hastings office and so far the success is apparent. The potato has sprouted and the growing process has begun.
Crag Foss said “I love this idea; not only do I get to show off my gardening skills but the money goes to a great charity idea.”
The fundraiser is to replenishing the emergency boxes after the Rotary Club’s store supplies were sent to Samoa.
There are some great prizes from the heaviest potato through to the ugliest potato. Craig is growing his potato in his Hastings office and will been on any good gardening ideas.
If anyone is interested in taking part phone Havelock North Rotary Des on 8777658

Give up now Craig! My daughter Kate, who teaches at Otane School and has been teaching her students all year the value of growing their own vegetables (she’d love a visit to show it off!) has two buckets sold my me and the engineer, is going to win. She started some weeks ago.
