Foss and Tremain take up the Bike to Work Challenge

Craig Foss MP for Tukituki and Chris Tremain MP for Napier are right behind the Hastings Commuter Cycle Challenge. Craig, Chris and Bike Hawke’s Bay Cycling Development Officer Vicki Butterworth want to get more Hawke’s Bay people using bikes to ride to work.
“This is a great way to get people out of their cars and riding to work ” said Craig “The health benefits are one of the main reasons that I support this but not the only one. It’s a great way of just being involved with a sport and taking time to enjoy our Hawke’s Bay summer”
The challenge is run over a 2 week period from Monday 22nd Feb to Friday 5th March. “We will be there as much as Parliament allows us to” Craig and Chris said.
This event has attracted great support from local businesses. The “Business of the Day” will supply breakfast on their chosen day from 7am -8.30am. Craig’s office is the “Business of the Day” on the 26th February. “The breakfast outside my office will be the best” Craig said challengingly. ” I have has great support from Suttos, supplying a coffee voucher; Countdown Hastings supplying muffins; Bakers Delight Hastings, supplying mini pizzas, locally grown fruit and a bit more. I thank these business for there support in making my breakfast the best during the cycle challenge fortnight.”
‘It’s great to see Hastings taking up the challenge. Craig and I work closely together to “Back the Bay” and its awesome to see them picking up the “Bike to Work” cycle challenge that we started last year” said Chris.
