Great start for HB District Health Board

January 26, 2010

Craig Foss, National MP for Tukituki, is pleased with the Hawke’s Bay District Health Board progress in achieving shorter stays in the emergency department.

The HBDHB is working on the Government’s health targets, which specifically aim to have 95% of people admitted and discharged or transferred from an emergency department within six hours of arrival.
‘Our DHB’s first quarter result was 73% and I know they are working on achieving the 95% target.’ says Mr Foss.
‘Shorter stays in the emergency department is one of six national health targets set by the National Government,’ says Mr Foss “and it is extremely pleasing to be able to say that our local DHB is working hard to achieve this initiative”.

‘This is a great start,’ adds Mr Foss ‘and I am confident that our local DHB will only improve.’
