MAC Impresses Craig Foss MP

January 28, 2010

Last Tuesday evening Craig Foss, National MP for Tukituki, visited the MAC Sports Association rugby team practice in Flaxmere. Mr Foss was very impressed with the teams attitude and dedication to training.

‘MAC is fantastic sports club with a long and inspiring local history,’ said Mr Foss. ’Originally a Maori Agricultural College it endured tough times including it’s buildings being destroyed in the 1931 earthquake. MAC has taken on a new lease of life building on its strong community values and family culture.’

MAC has rugby, netball, rugby league and touch rugby teams and this year are putting a lot of effort into their premiere rugby team.

‘I attended rugby training the other night, the weather wasn’t flash but the spirit was great and I had a fabulous time meeting everyone,’ adds Mr Foss. ‘I will certainly be keeping an eye on progress throughout the season.’
